Hey, I'd love to hear
from you. But FIRST read through the six most Frequently
Asked Questions below. If your question is there, then
please save us both a lot of time. If not, then click on the
email link at the bottom of the page.
FAQ'S:
1.
Can you tell me anything about this old (or antique) doll I
found?
A. No, I am so sorry, but I am NOT a doll expert or
historian. If I didn't make it, then I'm afraid I can't tell
you anything about it. Why not try the local library? Every
library I've ever visited has had books on the history of
dolls, or reference books for doll collectors. If that is
not an option, then go to my Classifieds and state your
question there. (It's free, you know!) This site gets a lot
of traffic and someone is sure to know the answer.
2.
Can you tell me where to find a certain stretch fabric for
needle-sculpted dolls?
A. No, I am so sorry, but I don't use stretch or knit fabric
for my dolls, so I have no idea where to buy that stuff. Why
not go to my Address Book and look at the needle-sculpted
dolls on some of those sites. I'm sure someone there could
point you in the right direction.
3.
Can you tell me where to buy molds or paints or brushes for
porcelain dollmaking?
A. No, I am so sorry, but I don't make porcelain dolls, so I
wouldn't know. There are magazines such as Dollmaking and
Doll Crafter, especially geared toward porcelain dollmakers.
Look for them at bookstores and newsstands.
4.
Do you have any tips for making (___) dolls?
A.
All my tips are online in the workbook, or in my book, Cloth
Dollmaking, or in the patterns that I have for sale. Please
don't ask me to come up with them on an individual basis. I
do have to make a living. If there is a particular technique
you are having a problem with, or you think I could address
a certain technique in an online article, I'd love to hear
from you.
5.
Are you going to have JIDS (Jekyll Island Doll Seminar)
again?
A.
Not in the foreseeable future. That seminar was fun while it
lasted, but it took up 4 years of my life, preventing me
from making many dolls, or doing any writing, and brought in
very little money. It is time to move on to other things,
I'm afraid.
6.
Can you please add me to your mailing list, or inform me
when you are teaching?
A.
I would be delighted! But would you please go
to the Mailing List page, and fill in all the blanks? It would be
SO much
easier if you would do it that way, rather than
sending a separate email from here. I promise to respond within
48
hours. If you don't hear back from me by then,
you probably entered your return email incorrectly. That happens
a
lot.
OK.
Those are the questions that get asked the most, and my very best
answers
to them. If you promise NOT
to ask them, then click on the LINK below. Thanks so much! I'm
looking forward to hearing from you.
